The best time to plant trees in coastal Georgia is November through the end of April.

Glynn County does have a Tree Ordinance but it is not considered strong enough to protect the tree canopy.   Go to Article VI and Click General Provisions. Then scroll to section 624. The County Commission appointed a Tree Ordinance Committee to rewrite and update the current ordinance. The concepts of that rewrite will soon be presented to the County Commissioners for approval.

Glynn County has a seven member Tree Board appointed by the Glynn County Board of Commissioners. They meet the last Monday of each Month at 3:00. The best trees to plant in this area are native species. Native  species trees are listed in The Comprehensive Tree Plan for Glynn County, which is part of the tree ordinance.
